Buying in advance, they are cheap, but I know waiting until I get stuck in an airport, they will be much more expensive. I'm just traveling with a backpack that fits under the seat in front of me, so I won't run into any of the luggage fees (well, I'm working on the weight, do you know if they weigh them or only if they look heavy).
Shannon and Dublin are two DL airports with Ryanair also. Their airport websites have destinations included.
Manchester could also be an option. Bare in mind, Ryanair may not be that cheap if you are travelling in a couple of weeks, it is high season in Europe. And they are generally non-refundable. A flight from Ireland to Scotland might also work out cheaper if you take two sectors normally via London-Stansted as there is a higher frequency of flights between the islands via London. All sectors have to be book separately though.
Best of luck and happy travelling!
