    Default Cost Question

Hi - I'm new to this forum, and apologize if there is already an answer out there but I couldn't find it...

I've flow 10+ times internationally with DL buddy passes and always had a great experience, but haven't in a couple of years. Now I find myself once again with a pass and, and while I understand the etiquette, rules, and dress code, find myself with other questions.

(I realize that the friend issuing my pass can answer a lot of these questions, but out of courtesy to my friends very gracious mom I'm trying to get some answers on my own so I don't have to bother her with a lot of back and forth.)

    Part 1:

-- Is it true that there is now a $50 per leg fee?
    -- And a fuel surcharge?
-- Is there a equation I can use? i.e.: 10% of the highest Y fare + 20% tax + fuel surcharge (which I know is always in flux)

    Part 2:

-- I'd like to fly ATL > DOH, but it doesn't look like there are straight up DL flights....just wanted to confirm that nothing has changed in the code share arena.
-- Is it true that I can do a days-long layover? e.g.: SIN > NRT - spend a week in Tokyo then continue on NRT > ATL?

Any responses are appreciated as I'm trying to book ASAP, so starts the second leg of my year-long travel adventure! Many thanks and happy travels!

    FAQ;

    • A $25 surcharge each way for travel within or between the 48 contiguous United States and Canada
    • A $40 surcharge each way for travel within or between Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America, and the 48 contiguous United States and Canada
    • A $50 surcharge eachway for all other travel.

Is there a equation I can use? i.e.: 10% of the highest Y fare + 20% tax + fuel surcharge (which I know is always in flux? No.
Is it true that I can do a days-long layover? e.g.: SIN > NRT - spend a week in Tokyo then continue on NRT > ATL? Not on 1 pass.
ATL - AMS OK. AMS - DOH codeshare. No can do on Buddypass. Fly JFK-DXB then buy ticket DXB-DOH on flydubai for about $160 RT with 9 daily flights.

Thanks! I am flying into Dubai instead as it works out. I'm shocked that there is not an equation, but I'm not disputing it It would be nice to be able to figure out on my own. I know it is still quite a bargain!

    Much appreciated!

Jenny, Jenny, who can you turn to? (nonrev.net!)
Jenny, I got your number: $725 ATL/DXB/ATL that's buddy pass estimate. (we have a new way to check now) That is payload optimization even tho it's 777 (probably temperature issues). There could be problems getting out. When are you planning to go? I can check loads.

Thanks mrs767. Correction on the JFK-DXB. The heavy payload optimized flights are Mon, Thurs and Fri. Once again Cargo pays the bills so even if 30 seats avail, we have "AOG and Wheat" below. Nothing to due with temperature though. 777's are monsters!

My mistake 767. I'm so used to JFK Euro routes that I forgot ATL covers this DXB route.

Wow, you guys are awesome! I'm thinking ATL > DXB on 22 JAN...thats a Tues so based on what you said above about Mon, Thurs, Fri are the bad days to fly, I should be good?

I want to return from NRT to ATL on 22 OCT....I know I've arrived and departed from different airports before (CDG and FCO) but is there a problem if they're not in the same region?

One more question....I was told that you can do several days-layover on one-way of one pass, for example:

    22 JAN: ATL > DXB
    17 OCT: SON > NRT
    22 OCT: NRT > ATL

    True or false?

If you happen to be in the system and happen to look up the price and the loads I'd love it! Thanks again for all your help! I'm on sabbatical and trying to make the most of my pass!
