Use of s2
I'm sitting here at HND refreshing the standby list constantly for a flight leaving in a few hours. Literally everyone but us on the list not including buddies is being checked in as s2 - even people who have way less than a year of service. I'm going to be pretty peeved if I lose out on a seat because of this. Is there some new policy I'm not aware of that got rid of the 1 year requirement? I'd change to s2 myself but I'm traveling with a parent who isn't eligible to use s2.
That really stinks. But, I believe once you get your pass rights, S2s are included (6/yr). Some people hardly travel so they just use them like candy. The everyone else does and it snowballs. (bad choice of words today!). Good luck!

I was reviewing eligibility for Boss' nondeps and noticed the one year minimum is for ready reserve employees. Otherwise I was correct about S2s being immediate. Hope it all worked out.

Yep thankfully we barely got those biz seats. After a very long few days that would've made for a rough ride home! Thanks for clarifying for me. I've never seen a standby list that long for a HND flight. The list grew quite a bit they day of which surprised me. Must be all the people who couldn't get out of NRT.
