    Any advice on getting from Europe to Almaty?

    I can travel on Delta to either AMS or FRA and then ID9x on KLM or Lufthansa to Almaty (ALA).

    Are there other connection points that I should consider? I hear the layover is Moscow is really long and visas are hard to obtain.

    Are there any airlines we should avoid?

    BA fly three times a week to ALA ( operated by British Mediterranean and via BAKU ) from Heathrow.
