Just wondered if anyone has an opinion on how the load factors run during the week after labor day. Since families don't travel that time of year as much here in the US, would the load factors be lower at that time or is the ORD/LHR route always heavily booked. Spouse is AA retiree.

    Karen,
Unfortunately no one outside of the US knows what 'Labor' day is so you will need to be more precise with dates to get any assistance from the non-US folks!!

So sorry. Labor Day is Monday Sept 4 this year. So we are wanting to travel to LHR sometime that week. What we have seen in the past in fying US routes is that the flights are not as full. Thank you.

    Hi KarenMB , welcome aboard.
This is a hard one, those (AA) 4/5 daily 777s fly pretty full, plus you have the annual D3 travel embargo to Europe usually lifted right around that time. Hmmmmm, I suppose if you've saved those D1 passes, have flexible travel dates, and have the nickname Lucky , the odds would be turned a little in your favor. However I have to tell you, my D3s haven't had much luck on that route, they ended up with a week in NYC.

Migflanker: Thank you for your comments. Although I am Irish I don't feel that lucky. Yes we will have D1's but we are leaving on a cruise out of Dover on Sept 9 so I'm not so sure I want to play the "non rev shuffle". Sure wanted to get on one of those AA sleeper seats in First Class but doesn't everyone. Guess we may buy airfare through Aer Lingus. They usually have some pretty good specials. We non reved it from LHR last spring (Apr I think) and didn't have a problem but we were returning from a cruise. We haven't used our passes much at all in the last three years as there have been so many cheap fares to many US cities. Appreciate any and all comments. I'll keep you posted on what we decide.
