Going to Italy in October. Would it be better to fly non-rev into Milan or Rome? Anyone know how it is to non-rev on Lufthansa? Thanks.

I am leaving for Italy on Oct. 13 (Fri) for FCO (Rome). It's my understanding that majority of Milan travelers are business people. While Rome travelors tend to be more leisure. I am planning to use US Airways from Philadephia to/from Rome. My backup plan is to use KLM via AMS (from JFK); my Plan C is to use LH via FRA (also from JFK). I do not know much about KL/LH so I am also anxious to know. My take is that KLM would be better as less O + D traffic from AMS (vs. FRA).
what do you want to know exactly about non-reving on LH?
This is our first experience non-revving outside the US. Having read a post about the difficulties/complications of non-revving on Delta I wanted to know what experience people had had on LH. thanks.
i would say that non-reving on lh is nothing special to worry about. flights are mostly quite full, but there is a quite high noshow rate so your chances to get a seat are quite good. on the flights to fra there is more nonrev traffic than on the flights to muc. within europe sby travel is also nothing special-it's easier than in the us because there is not so much sby travel as within the us.
Thank you, osflyer. This is the kind of info I was looking for. Reading some of these posts makes me feel like non-revving overseas is overwhelming. You have helped.
no problem at all-if you have any further questitions don't hesitate to ask
Sue27, this maybe a little late, but my wife and I just did a non-rev roundtrip JFK-NCE-JFK (Nice, France, a few miles from the Italian border) on Delta (I'm with NW), and it went quite smooth, even got to sit up front outbound! NCE may work for you depending on where in Italy you're headed. Happy flying!
