I agree! Earlier this week I picked up 2 nights in Central London for 26 quid per night on the UK Travelodge website. I've never seen rooms in London for that low a price in all the years I've been going there - even the plethora of B&B style hotels around Victoria and Paddington and South Kens/Earls Court areas are usually 40-50 pound per night.
They have nights as low as 15 quid from what I can see, but obviously the earlier you book the better. The 15/26/49 pound saver-rates are also prepay only.
Sure - it's only a Travelodge (UK version) so nothing to write home about, but you know what you are getting and the standard is better than the unknown quality/value of the traditional cheaper options of the B&B style hotels. You know the ones - the ones with shoeboxes for the "en-suite", a single bed only crammed on the wall and 4 paces from wall to wall.
