My wife and I are going to Venice this November. What is the best day of the week to non-rev. I fly for a Delta Connection carrier and have S3c. We live in ATL and would like to take the nonstop from ATL, but will probaly ahve to connect through JFK. Any reccomendations on which day of the week to go? We have two weeks off in the beginning of November and are planning on staying for 4 nights. any other recommendations would be great as well - where to stay, etc. I've found some pretty good deals on www.venere.com
    Thanks,
    Scott

went via DL jfk a few wks ago. most flights are stable within 2 week for exact dates. the crew hotel is ambasciatore and is right across street from #4 bus $1EU/pp to Venice. The area is called MEstre and they have a very nice Christmas market there.
prices in venice can be outrageous and hotel nr rialto or on canal are $$$$$$
ck out the DL discount here: requires ID:
    accorhotels.com
ck box for company contract box left side
    SC006924872
    code 32474
There is a Sofitel right by the bus station and vaporetto (boat transport). Accor is also Mercure, Novotel, etc.

there are 2 best western )privately owned in good location
venere.com is one of the best sights for eu also try hotelclub.net they offer good prices and you accrue $ to use next purchase

good luck--come back if you need more help

I was watching our flight for over 3 weeks and within the 2 wk period, the numbers barely changed--actually for the good and I didn't have to use an S2. Ticket sales don't change alot within 14 days due to advance purchase rules--you only have to worry about other nonrevs!!
Loads had been very IFFY but I went on Thursday and it was the Venice Film Fetsival wkend, as well. Otherwise, keep in mind that most of those loads are based on tour business. What are your #'s like right now?
In a real pinch--can you use Alitalia and connect thru Rome for CVG, ATL or JFK options? there are 7 am flights to FCO in ID96's for $40 ish/pax.

IF you're interested in upscale accomodations, ck out luxurylink.com for some outrageously fab places in VCE--we're talking upwards of $400 night for 2 but with superb suites/bfasts/taxes, etc.

I also suggest tkaing a peek at frommer's budget travel--they have forum and had an article this past year about renting "palazzos" in Venice.
Please don't hesitate to ask more. Happy to help.
