    Default Verizon in Europe

Has anyone had any experience with the rental phones from Verizon while travelling in Europe? Specifically, did it work well? How much did you use the internet? Did you do a package or just pay by the minute? What did your bill look like when you got home?

I want to be able to look at flights and make last minute changes if need be. Thanks!

So what happens when your plan A fails and you have to start making changes on the fly?

I try and buy a broadband sim wherever I go and keep it. I have one for Singapore, one for HKG, and keep my Australian account open. I think you can get broadband sims from voda or virgin in the UK, and AT&T in US.

I ordered one from at&t a week before I arrived in vegas, and sure enough it arrived the day after I checked out! Such is life...

I thought Verision still used CDMA. Or are all the new phones dual band?

They are CDMA. They have world phones you can rent when you go to Europe. I was hoping I could find someone who had rented one.

Interesting, if no one answers & you do it let us know how well it works out and the cost.

If you decide not to use Version you can buy an unlocked phone here and a SIM card when you get there, and use WiFi for the net.

I rented the phone, so after I get back I'll let you know how it goes.
