    Folks ....There appears to be a bit of confusion here ... the German tax you mention above is not new and HAS been in operation since Jan 2011.

    There are four German tax codes:
    1. DE - Security Tax
    2. RD - Domestic Passenger Service Charge
    3. RA - International Passener Service Charge
    4. OY - Air Transport Tax

    The OY, which ranges in amount based on itinerary ticketed, was effective for sales and for travel on/after 01Jan12. The others have earlier effective dates.
