    Default Normandy Bound

We're off to CDG, then train to Bayeux and a lovely hotel between town and beaches.
NORMANDY in CHARMING HOTEL, Farm la Rançonniere, near Arromanches and Bayeux
Took advantage of winter promo--stay 3, pay for 2, including 3 bfast and 2 dinner. One dinner will be in town--looks like I have an idea of a place:
    LE BOUCHON Bayeux 14400
Also found a small hotel in the heart of town:
√ Hotel d'Argouges Bayeux Basse Normandie
for additional nights before returning to CDG (Novotel Convention overnight--free shuttle) and home.
We're celebrating Boss' 60th Bday and early retirement--Mon dieu--what shall I do with him at home after August?
I hired a private guide (highly recommended from friends). A bit pricey, but Boss is worth every euro.
Looking forward to reporting the results of our trip. A bientot y'all...

Travel apps : Normandy. I think you might find these handy

If you want a pragmatic ‘get-me-there-then-tell-me-about-it’ app, there are three main English language contenders – Spot On Location’s Normandy D-Day app (£2.99, iTunes store; Google Play before end of May 2014); Brittany Ferries D-Day Guide/Pocket Locations’ D-Day and Normandy (Pocket Locations have a distribution deal with Brittany Ferries for basically the same app; both £0.69, iTunes store); and Metropole Apps’ D Day (£0.69, iTunes store). While they all share some features in common, they all also have unique features.

All look quite viable IF I had an iphone or data plan. I have an ipad (HATE it!) and Boss has android but if he's not flying, it's rarely out and available. My idea of app is apple brandy--like Normandy calvados! Since we're not driving, much of this is lost for our needs. Hopefully, this thread will help others in the future. I try to do all my "work" before we depart--memory is my app?

Oui, Mig--we are happy in our suite in Crepon. 14th century bldg w/mod asoect and VG wifi.
Great timing to CGD--fast processing, train station way early. Taxis in Paris are now set rate 50 or 55 flat for left or right bank BTW
Hotel and dinner are outstanding--will post menu after trip--super WOW food--chef is incredible.
I was a bit freaked about strike but you never know w/French strikes!
Thanks for thinking about the warning. A bientot.
