Default CDG Drops COVID Restrictions but...Cases are Rising.

France lifted most COVID-19 restrictions on Monday, ending the need for face masks to be worn in the majority of public places and allowing the unvaccinated back into bars, restaurants and cinemas.
The move comes less than a month before the first round of a presidential election and just as the number of new coronavirus infections trends upwards again, prompting questions among some scientists over whether the easing is premature.
"We can breathe," said construction worker Jean-Yves Richard, "and smell things we haven't smelled in a while."
Bank employee Virginie de Busschere said the removal of masks in the workplace delivered a psychological boost. "I feel lighter, we can see people's smiles again."

Masks no longer have to be worn in schools, offices and shops though they remain mandatory in hospitals and in public transport.
Meanwhile, from Monday, people will no longer have to show proof of vaccination to get into bars, nightclubs, museums, stadiums and long-distance trains. France's "vaccine pass" rules fuelled weeks of street protests when they were first announced.
France recorded more than 60,000 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, up a third on the previous week.

You do not need the "pass vaccinal" anymore but it seems that if you not have the booster shot you still need a PCR or antigen test to board a flight if I a not mistaking

For visitors from green countries, which currently includes the US, France does require a negative covid test if you are not current on your vaccination “A vaccination certificate is considered valid when entering France if the document proves that the holder has completed primary vaccination within the last nine months or has received a booster shot.”

    For the unvaccinated, “
Unvaccinated persons reaching France from a green country can either present a valid recovery certificate or a negative test result that has been taken recently to be allowed restriction-free entry.”

That said, I would love to do a long weekend in Paris but am hesitant due to the return testing requirements regardless of vaccination status.

As a French I must admit, CDG is one of the worst major airport in the world. (ORY is not better).

Last September when I came back from France, I took an antigen test at a pharmacy, I paid 25 euros, the price is fixed in labs and pharmacies, and my Us insurance reimbursed me after seeing the paperwork. The cost did not change, everything related to health is very regulated specially the cost either for citizens or foreigners who do not have the health coverage. To give you an idea, once, I had a bicycle accident, damaged my hand, stayed in a hospital 24h in a single room, had an hour and 30mm surgery the bill that I had to pay out of pocket was around $2000. Living in the Us I am not eligible for the French coverage, if it god forbids, had happened to you you would have had to pay the same.
