Hey Dejo,
The codes represent 'non-rev' standby boarding priority. All paying standby and (of course) positive space seats are filled first.
The codes:
2: Management or general employee special circumstances.
3: Contractual employee vacation Travel (we are allowed two return sets of these per year)
5: Basic Contractual employee boarding code
6: Parents of employees
7: Airlink empolyees flying NW Red tails
8: Codeshare Contenantal empolyee non-rev
9: Companions (which must after 2/03 fly with employee or eligable family of empolyee)
A Code number followed by the following letter means:
a: (3a) Empolyee award - boards before all 3's
e: Emergancy travel
b: Registered travel companion (=spouse)
w: Airlink (list as 5w...changes to 7)
p: Parent
r: Retired

Northwest just re-organized their codes. I got this off of a travel memo. Does any NW/DL/CO employees know if premium cabin stanby is allowed on the new ID95 agreement. I know Delta is allowing it, but I haven't heard the official policy and I haven't heard anything about NW/CO's rules.
As you can see this is an exported list straight out of the GDS...
