DOES THE PUBLIC HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW?

Just wondering...sometimes, because of seeing releases several times a day...

For instance...yesterday, we had a plane push, then return to the gate, deplane, added the DC Generator and some cabin stuff to the already listed APU....reboard and push...making it 80 minutes l8

Last week, we had to deplane 37 people and 48 bags, MEL Prop Feathering, reboard w/only 11 people and 6 bags (limit) ..the Pax don't seem to care...they just want to get there....nobody says: "Why is this plane limited to 11 pax?"

(I mean, I care....I have seen pilots afraid to even ferry a plane when all the redundant systems for prop featherig failed)

Add to this.... planes w/o radar, onboard deicing equipment not working (had to fly around clouds) ...ETC

(Ironic that they will ground a plane for the FA's closet door not closing, but a plane can have a broken lav door for days)

So I know most will think that disclosure is a bad thing, causes panic and unjust fears....but I still want to hear opinions please

As part of the public that flies often, I find what you shared very scary. I work for an airline that safety is #1. Our pilots would refuse to fly an aircraft with a problem, and headquarters would not expect them to fly it.

    Define "problem?"

Trust me, MEL lists are common and I'd bet over 50% of planes flying have something listed on the release.

Is it serious? Most times the planes can fly w/o it/them (the items) or they wouldn't be allowed to....and of course a good pilot would not fly a questionable plane.

Would a passenger fly a plane that was just lying in parts in front of them at the gate? Yes...I see it, not everyday, but too often
