Delta Changing to Zed for Employee Leisure Travel on Other Airlines
January 24, 2008
Effective February 1, 2008, Delta will begin changing our interline employee travel agreements to Zonal Employee Discount (referred to as ZED) agreements. The ZED program allows employees and retirees (and eligible family members) of participating carriers to utilize standardized fares based on mileage rather than discounts off of varying published revenue fares. ZED fares are generally less expensive than ID tickets and can be accepted by any carrier that has a ZED agreement with Delta allowing travel on the other airline.
Initially, ZED travel passes will be available on AS, NW, and CO airlines. Additional airlines will be added as agreements are made. Please check the GRS or KM Keyword Nonrev topic for each airline to obtain the latest information per carrier.
Please note that both ticketing and travel for these new ZED passes will not be available until February 1st, 2008.
Thats especially great for me. I am based in SLC and work for Continental. The only good ID95 fare on Delta was SLC-HNL. It was $60 nonstop and I am sure it will be more on a ZED. It is cheaper than SLC-LAX on a Delta ID95.
This would be a GREAT news!

I just was looking at our interline agreement with Delta and it is now official. As of Feb. 1 our agreement is for ZED fares instead of ID95.
