Thread: An All New Nonrev Network!

Hi Everyone,

First of all, I want to say a HUGE thank you to all of you who have been loyal participants in our lil’ network. I’m proud to announce to you that a whole new Nonrev Network is coming!

I started a redesign about a year ago and a lot of family drama, a full time job, and other factors have really drug it out but we’re almost there!

I resigned my job as a Web Content Developer with delta.com last month. I decided that before I went out to look for another job, I’d sit down, finish this redesign and see where it goes. My dream is to get me a laptop, throw it in my back pack and work the Nonrev Network as I trot across the globe. Wouldn’t that be sweet!

If I can swing it, it will be good for me and great for the community. Imagine if rather than 2,300 registered users we had 100,000 or more. Our community would become a comprehensive encyclopedia of travel information exclusively for nonrevs and we could get almost instant answers to specific questions from other nonrevs across the globe!

I thought it would be a couple of more weeks before launching the new site but I’ve found out that I can’t really begin customizing our new forum until the current members and posts have been transferred from this forum to the new forum.

Yep, I said, "new forum". I know you’re gonna love it. It will have rich social network features. The profile will be awesome with a bunch of features kinda like myspace or facebook but for a more mature, professional crowd like us. We’re gonna have blogs and photo galleries too!

So once it’s up it will be kinda plain but I’ll be working on customizing and getting all the settings up to speed right away. I’ll set up a support forum for questions so we’ll all be learning together.

Beginning Thursday, September 27 at about 9am I’ll turn this one off. Expect the forum to be unavailable for up to 48 hours. But if all goes well it should happen much quicker and the nonrev.net address will point to the all new site soon afterwards.
