Great news!!!

On May 6th Delta and Northwest will begin phase 1 of its reciprocal pass travel benefits. To travel on the other, you must get a paper ticket, just as you do with ZED fares, however, the fare is $000.00. Of course, just like zed, you'll be the last on, and you must dress to the nicer of the dress codes.

This looks pretty fantastic. I ended up not needing it, but I almost purchased ZED the other day on NW. Would have been pretty pricey, too.

Great news. It appears that NW still has a "dress code"..guess it'll be lowered after the merger?

Yea, this opens alot of options for connecting. And even double connecting should it get you where you're going.

Maybe I'll bump into you in MSP, or maybe fight you for the last seat.(You win)

One question though. This is for coach travel. Should a flight have 0 in Y, and say 3 in F, I'm the only one left. Would it be at all possible to get the F seat? could they bump a rev pax to F and I get Y? would they leave me at the gate to try for the next flight? I certainly hope for 1 of the 2 former, but perhaps you could enlighten me. Thanks

Honestly? If an elite doesn't grab it and you're even remotely human to the gate attendant, you may very well get the F class...

I was kind of figuring that, but wasnt' sure. I know for DL, we get F free if available. So honestly, if space available, I'd probably board an OAL emp in F. But seeing as though NW emp must pay for F, I figure they'd be less likely to just give you F, even in that situation.

Collectively, how do most NW employees feel about the merger? I was talking to a NW CSA in SFO, and he was all for it. But I've heard some people really complaining, especially the union vs non-union thing. I wonder if a gate agent might not clear you just to try to prove some union point. I've seen some pretty shady things supported by unions, and that is my issue with them. They do serve a purpose, but that shady, company sabotage style stuff is just BS, and I could see possible issues with travel on NW if you've got a diehard NW gate agent that wishes nothing more than to see DL go away.

Hopefully that will never be an issue for a single person.

Perhaps I'll be bugging you 3x a week to check loads for me. Matter of fact, whadaya got 5/6 MDT-DTW and back say around 5PM? Any Deisel 9s?

    Thanks

Five to choose from - Most CRJ's - one embracer flight, one DC9 - all look REALLY nice on the out, return not bad.

The D flights leaves DTW TO MDT at around 2P and returns around 4 -

Funny enough, I'll be in DTW on the 6th in the AM - I get there PROBABLY around 930 and I'm meeting a freind around 3PM before buggering off to YWG - maybe we should arrange to say hi?

PS - 6:25PM is the closest return, but it's pretty up there - the 9:30 looks like less than half.

Not really, with the new standby code that was implemented for the "Fly Together" NWA employees will be activated using priority SNWA which puts them after DL buddy passes and above all other OAL employees and allows them to be cleared into First if available...currently all skyteam employees are priority S3D which prohibits clearing into First Class..For NWA employees to NRSA list on Delta they must call the Fly Together number 1-800-789-8156 and list at least 30 minutes before domestic departure or 1hour before international departure...

For Delta employees on NWA we will be priority 6P and must list at 8hours before departure using phone 1-800-943-6319

You dress for whatever airline you are on, if flying Delta just be clean and avoid PJ's, on NWA business casual - just for clarification for the newbys - the dress code is based on the airline you are flying on so if you are Delta flying on NWA you must dress business casual, if you are NWA flying on Delta, well, just dont look dirty, our dress code is too lax but that is another thread...

Technically speaking -- no Skyteam airline employee nonreving on another SkyTeam airline is "supposed" to be cleared in first, they are supposed to be coach only and even allow first class seats go out empty and roll the OAL over to the next flight...with Delta, SkyTeam employees are supposed to be activated as S3D which is programed to prevent first class seat assignments...I, for one, have conveniently forgot that little tidbit of info and cleared SkyTeam employees into first class when available...I think it is a stupid contractual rule that bigwigs that fly positive space first class everywhere they go thought up...

Jumper is absolutely correct - be nice to the gate agent and dont distract them from doing their jobs and they will most likely help you out...my pet peeve - if i am making announcements that the flight is oversold and i need volunteers from the revenue passengers to go on later flights please dont come up and ask what the chances are that you will get on the flight...
