I'm looking for snack ideas for a cross country (LAX/BOS) flight. The snacks must travel well, need no refrigeration, be "kinda sorta" healthy and be tasty, tasty, tasty. Also, while it/they should look appealing, it/they should not look or smell so good that the envious eyes of other pax start burning holes in my head. All suggestions, except canned sardines, will be appreciated.

    Thanks--

do you bake? I have "Road Trip Snack Bars" I make that are out of this world! Old Fashioned Oats and stuff--you can vary the dried fruit--my guy loves figs in his. Pecans or almonds. Tiny choc chips or not--can use peanut butter chips, too.
Low sugar, low fat and I use no sodium baking powder and egg beaters. You cna make them w/conventional stuff, but NO instant oats!!
I also vacuum bag them and freeze them--his co-pilots rave.

Thanks Mrs767. I do have a oatmeal peanut butter bar recipe I could try; only with mine you also spead fudge over it, the fudge ups the nutritional value.

Oh yeah, the top of the food pyramid is chocolate and the foundation is cookies, with chips, pretzels and honey roasted nuts in the middle.

    I'm outta here.

We always bring beef jerky on our trips along with trail mix.

Thanks mnmomma. Just got back, my plane provisions consisted of snack bars and dried fruit from Trader Joe's (sorrry Ms767 didn't do homemade ), one half eaten turkey sandwich ( you know how it is, you're rushing, you're eating, and one never throws away a good sandwich ) a bag of chips and chocolate. Trust me, that chocolate candy made me very popular on my flight.

    BTW mnmomma, welcome aboard.

Almost forgot, on my iPod is contemporary jazz and R&B -old sckool- back in the day. C-19 would probably jump out the window.

While Jazz and R&B are not my musical styles, I did fly from BCN-JFK with ears full of classical symphony the whole way.
