EK has not communicated any embargoes on its A380 service and I wouldn't expect any if they haven't advised yet (these would be published in Sabre TVL STARs).

STAR TVLEK
0S ZED TRAVEL CONDITIONS - AA AND EK
71NG EMBARGOES
72NG --------------
73NG . * NONE APPLY
74NG .

ZED agreement requires that the airline provide a minimum 30 days notice of any embargoes. It also states that embargoes may only be placed on ZED travel if the same embargo applies to that airline's own staff.

Are they operating revenue flights during this tour, or strictly familiarization flights? Some airlines let you nonrev on ferry flights, EK???

It is not a tour.
They will be operating the 380 on the JFK-DXB route.
I heard that LH is going to fly a 380 into MIA also.

I'm sorry, I should have elaborated. They are starting JFK-DXB, I'd assume daily. I forget the dates, but I read something about them flying to LAX and maybe somewhere else for familiarization. Just once, in preparation for future service. I was wondering if they were going straight from JFK-LAX, or heading back to DXB first. If they're going straight JFK-LAX, I would think they couldn't carry pax.

So I was wondering if EK would allow OA nonrevs(ME) on a ferry flight.

The schedule is limited at first but it will go to daily later on.
I believe it is in October.
