    Agree.
It is good I have been there eleven times because I am not going back! Same with AMS. I went to AMS last year for around $60 in tax and now it is $140. Yikes![/b]
Yeah i thought of going to AMS iso LHR but it was just as ridiculous

Per the rules, you will be able to use it but not everyone knows the rules.
I have used ZED tickets for over 10 years and many times on city pairs that were not on the ticket. There has never been a problem, not even a second glance.[/b]
Yeah but for example BA does not allow this, even if ZED rules do!

I checked with an AA agent once and she said it was OK, but to pick a young gate agent. I called them once to check as well and the lady was very shirty and told me it would be an exception to the rule to allow different routings, even in same zone.

Regardless, i usually try to make sure one city is correct - either departure or origin.

The first time I ever used Zed was for an SFO-CDG on AF. The flight was full so we took the tickets to BA and they were prepared to accept them but they were full too. KL and AY were full also but we finally had a winner with VS, who accepted them on their SFO-LHR flight and even put us in Upper Class.

I know there will always exceptions and also that pass travel is the last thing the airlines are concerned about.
Like you said, it does help to be prepared.
