FORGIVE ME IF THIS QUESTION HAS BEEN ANSWERED BEFORE BUT i JUST FOUND THIS SITE. I plan to non rev on a NW(not code share) flight before June 23.If the coach cabin is full, will I be able to get a seat in first if available and if so, is there a fee? Also, is there a checked luggage fee for non revs? Also, what is the dress code for first class? Are jeans allowed in first? Thanks for all replies.

The dress code is business casual, so no jeans.
They will not upgrade but will move a freqent flyer up and give you the Y seat.
NW employees have to pay for upgrades.

I thought that they made casual dress OK soon after the merger was official?

casual dress has been the standard since the merger--quite right, spongebue! but, still no lingerie or pj's!

Cattiee--you mean international, yes?

I'm sure they will not allow you up front w/out paying the upgrade fee--you will be treated the same as NW employee. Not sure the current NW bag policy tho.

This is a domestic flight. I would assume that jeans in first would be o.k. because Delta is saying that NW will follow Delta's relaxed dress code policy.However. I may dress in business casual to be on the safe side.I really don't care which cabin I am assigned, I just want to get ON and the opportunity looks better in first. Has anybody from DL actually non-reved recently on a NW(not code share) flight?

I can't quite get into the jeans since I don't wear them much anyway. Add when I fly Captain's wife mode on his trips, I just feel under-dressed. I have Eddie travel pants (not zipper shorts type) and they look pretty nice because the fabric is good. They don't look business casual but better than jeans in my book--add a nice smart sweater... I did give up having a separate set of nonrev clothes and I don't miss them at all!!
So, I understand your feelings, but it won't get you up front free!! hahaha

If you are mainline Delta, you will be in coach I'm sure (until the 23rd) as NW pays a fee for riding 'upfront'. Also, until the Great badge blend', you'll be at the bottom of the pile after 'regular' NW folks - just a heads up.

I love the "redtail" label--does that make us blue bu*ts?
Gotta love the Great Badge Belnd, too--you are tres clever (except when you stole my carpe trippem--even tho you fessed up to it)
I think the original question was if no NW coach seats, would they re-assign revs or charge fee for DL nonrevs, even after the redtails get their seats? I dunno how that works either. It's prob a non-issue but a curiosity for a few more wks!

With all the yappy dogs (aka 'silver elites&#39 they get upgraded before anyone - if only because they nip at the ankles of the gate agents until they do.

NW nonrevs would get the option to upgrade first, and then you blue butts...
