Hi everyone, I am hoping to embark on my first non-rev adventure soon, but I wanted to know if there is a list somewhere of all the international taxes and fees. Or does anyone know which countries have the lowest fees? This newbie would really appreciate the help! Oh, and I am with DL if that makes a difference.

Personally, I'd suggest considering a flight to a small town that has easy and frequent flights for your first time. If nothing else, don't make it anything too extravagant. Otherwise, when I was at NW, Canada had the best taxes among all the limited options we had for international flights (about $20 on return, and I think that somehow it was cheaper on DL).

Jenny--you can "pretend" to get a ticket for any INT destination DL/NW flies on travelnet. At the end of the lisitng they'll ask you to approve how much the "ticket" will cost for nonrev and it will only be taken out of your paycheck IF you use it. You'll have the exact amount--If you're just shopping--delete the listing and move to the next.
There used to be a chart of INT fees on deltanet, but I think it's gone (replaced w/above system)

I think Jenny will have some issues w/domestic travel out of SLC, pending the frequency and AC available. Watch out for the RJ's--the fill up fast or you get downsized subbed AC last minute (as in--oops, 64 seats? nope, now it's 40)

INT is the way to go right now if you can afford hotel/food--biz is typically avail--be mindful some destinations are only serviced every few days . I'm going to BUD w/hubby next month--there are 2 stayover periods--48 hrs or 120 (or more) due to frequency.

happy to help w/discount info--we all like to save $$. You should shop Accor Hotels (see travelnet--employee discounts) you can get up to 75% off rooms space avail. I can walk you thru their system--thye just changed it--PITA!!

PS--Bud costs about $38 fees , JNB $50, EZE $30, AMM $60 + VOA, etc (don't forget to ck visa costs)

Most Asia taxes are low.

Avoid SCL. You pay $130 at the airport and get $47 out of your check.

EZE was 60$ all in all - but it can be a PITA to get out - I agree with the others - try a 'test run' first to someplace like MSP (you should see the MOA once) for a day trip and see how it REALLY works. There's theory and then there's practice....

I guess EZE went way up! It's now $58.50!! You still paid the dpearture tax separately?
I doublechecked Feb 09 and it was $29.50 EZE total--plus the $18 departure tax paid@ airport.

Thanks for the help everyone! I will definitely take a short domestic flight first to see how everything works.

Jenny since this will be your first venture into the nerve wracking thrill-a-minute world of nonreving. You might want to read Al's How to Norev article, full of good advise.

Oh , heavens!!
Jenny will probably never want to travel anywhere if she actually listens to ALL of us!!
Since it's close to Halloween--good to have the nonrev fright put into everyone! After all, it's pre-holidays...

Maybe she should just go with 29 Palms' wife ( his good luck nonrev charm, so he says! )
