The airplane that Captain "Chesley" Sullenberger landed on the Hudson River is being auctioned off.

    Story here Hudson River splashdown plane to be auctioned off

    I hope it will go to a museum, but probably it will end up as scrap.

    I wonder what it'll sell for. I've always wanted a have a plane and make a hotel or bar out of it.

    Hopefully the Smithsonian picks it u - it would be a good display

    Similar junked planes go for $2.6 million dollars. And remember there are no engines and this is a "as is/where is" sale. So you might want to check your FedEx discount before you bid.

    LOL don't talk to me about FedEX discount. I went to Fedex in middle-of-nowhere in Melbourne (Derrimut, if you are google maps inclined) to send tix to my ex "companion" in LHR. Was fine first time.

    Second time I get there and she says no, there is no longer an agreement with CX and they got a memo. I ask to see memo as our intranet still lists it as active. She refuses so I call Fedex and they say CX issued the memo to suspend the agreement.

    So I email our benefits services team who go back and forth with Fedex who deny and agree that the agreement is terminated. At the moment I think it is still listed, but I haven't bothered to go back since.

    Sent next batch of tickets express post intl... got to London on Dec 1, did not arrive at friends house until Jan. Tried to lodge a claim with Auspost and they said "we met our agreement by getting it to London within 2 days, after that is isn't our problem". Suffice to say I hung up the phone before using some choice words.

    Lost ticket indemnity and nice xmas bonus of staff at LHR waiving the USD$50 fee - I won't use Auspost or Fedex again!

    Fedex = Fedup!

    Oh and I don't think my 100kg/year rebated cargo voucher is gonna get that baby home
