Hi Nicolas,

I can't tell with which airline you are employed but, from your comments, I'm going to guess it is one that is using the MyIDTravel site to manage off-line travel ticketing. The codes you are mentioning are passenger type codes agreed by the ZED community to identify each traveler-type. This code should be included somewhere on your ticket as well, if it is an electronic ticket it will be included in the edifact message so you will not see it at all. This allows the airline to which you are presenting your ticket to determine if the traveler is, in fact, eligible to travel based on the agreement that airline has with your employing ariline. But alot of that won't go into play until/unless that airline has automation in place to read it.

The passenger type codes can also be used to determine applicable fare, e.g,. for child and infant but also if you airline has negotiated a different fare for parent than it has for employee.

2) Is there any way to get hold of a zed travel set of rules (pdf file, website..?), besides those provided by each individual airline?.

The ZED travel rules should be published by your own staff travel office, specifically where they vary by carrier. Much of the rules are standard I have outlined those in my article What is a ZED Fare?.
