Sounds like you did alright for a first timer. *wink* But we can’t have you drinking a hurricane that doesn‘t put you back on your heels. Next time try one from the place where hurricanes were invented - Pat ’O’Brien’s. Although I’ve never gotten further than the patio. *cheers* You gotta love "to-go" cups.
And I noticed no mention of coffee & beignets in the morning, charbroiled oysters, po' boys or *take home-fresh* pralines. You're just going to have to go back, and soon.
I agree with you about the price of parking in the Quarter it’s steep; the only place higher is San Francisco. There are some public lots in area but the prices are “as posted” so it varies - and trust me the lot owners are great believers in supply and demand.
Crawfish Boil-- I’ve never heard of one held at a restaurant. Try visiting in the spring (crawfish season) you’ll probably run into some kind of a festival in the park or you can check with some of the hotels in the Quarter; during the season they’ve been known to have “Friday Crawfish boils”. Or you could just make friends with a Cajun and get invited over for dinner. Checkout some of my favorite eating places - http://nonrev.net/north-america/1496...ip-report.html
