Yes, we take a chance anytime we go in the water. I remember snorkeling out on the islands, once on the TANAPAG CHANNEL, where recently, a Japanese diver saw a Tiger Shark tearing up a turtle. I was checking out a downed WWII Japanese Zero of WWII. Another time, I would snorkel off of Apra Harbor on Guam, to see the prop of the ship, was told that there were sharks in the harbor by the launch driver that he had seen them before. I never saw any thank God. I can tell you other times and places I have dove into the waves on the beaches, places such as Panama, Acapulco, the Pacific, the North Atlantic off of Massachusetts, the caribbean, even in Iwo Jima. Anytime I could have had a piece bitten off of me. All it would take is the sensation of pain, followed by red water, and lots of freakin out.
