If that would have been a SWA employee pass, it's very likely the SWA employee wouldn't have a job. It has happened before that an employee has lost their job because of the way one of their pass riders acted when traveling.

They shouldn't have gone on vacation so far away from home if they can only afford one meal a day after not getting on a full flight. Those $10 buses that operate between NY and DC would be more appropriate for this sorry family.

Buddy passes are a double edge sword. When people ask for a pass they claim they are willing to sit at the airport and wait whatever period of time, of course untill they are in the situation. Most outsiders who don't work in this industry don't understand the ins and outs of travelng as a standby and how many hiccups can happen along the road. Who in their right mind would nonrev in the tail end of of summer with 2 kids and is not an employee (meaning no other options). The employee has as much blame as the pax, but the pax has nerves to call the news. What is this family expecting JetBlue to do, bump revenue passengers to acommodate them. Unreal.
