Default Need to get to Berlin

Trying to get to Berlin in a few weeks. I will either be flying into Frankfurt or Dussledorf on Delta. What are my options. I am retired from Delta and wish they flew closer to Berlin...but guess not.

Hi, KT. Don't you have access to travelnet and can buy zeds? Are you trying for Christmas?
Why not shoot for CVG/CDG nonstop and buy a zed on AF to Berlin? Or even buy a connecting ticket on LCC?

I do have access to travelnet, but have never purchased any zed's before. I had thought of just taking the train from either airport to Berlin. Otherwise, my 2nd leg of my journey (from either cdg, fra, or dus) will cost 2-3times more than my departure taxes to get back to the states. Just trying to go the cheapest route.

The taxes will be calculated on RT NR tkt, based on from which airport you depart back to States. CDG is not super $$. FRA is very high--about $130. No clue about DUS. AF zeds are low--same with AMS, but not sure what fees are for AMS. I'd poke around myIDtravel and get an idea. Train could be pricey, compared to zeds. Have fun working all the angles. Are you trying to travel over Christmas week?

Taxes from DUS is about $95 where FRA is $115, but FRA does offer 3 flights per day, where there is only 1 flight from DUS. My dates of travel are around Dec 15-22. My friend that I am visiting says she might be able to get a car hire for me for about 30-40 euro's each way...so probably will do that option rather than the train for about 79 euro's each way.

Wonder why FRA fees went down? My flight in Jan was $130--JFK/FRA/JFK. CDG zeds are really cheap on AF--they are zed low. RT is $106--less than a car or the train. ezeds are easy to book and are quickly refunded if you don't use them (we had KL ones we didn't use--refunded same day) Hope that info helps.

Hmmm. My ticket was $129. Base fare was 95 so that leaves $34 for the rest. When I went last spring on company metal only had 30 something deducted as well. I must just be lucky traveling ex AMS
