And sadly, there probably won't be much on the blackbox (orange box, rainbow box, whatever) if it's that far out. I think they only record the last couple hours of data. Still, it could help with a few clues.
That is if anyone didn't "PULL" the orange box out. It's the easiest thing to do. Anyone knowing where the box is, can easily unrack it. Easily accessible too.
Only had the 777 school, have not actually worked the aircraft. Looking thru my notes to see where the FDR/CVR lives....

Interesting "ROARING 40's", as speaking in nautical terms with the southern INDIAN OCEAN in search of Malaysian flight. Apparantly good sailing winds for the yachtsman. Hard to think of the I.O. as a cold windy place, considering I was 7 degrees south of the Indian Ocean at Diego Garcia in the Chagos Archipelago, but here is a good map of "Roaring 40's".

I also think it was hijacked, and the crummy news keeps trying to tell us its in the ocean, its just a cover up, I think someone with intelligence was onboard, and they wanted them to stay quiet, and permanently stay quiet.
