Well, airlines pays a little higher than that, however, it also depends on how many years experience you have as a technician. Some have an AAS degree in Aviation Mx Technology as I Then there is the overtime. You would be surprised to know that in today's world, nobody wants to work with their hands anymore, and get greasy or dirty, or work crazy shifts, hours. Schools don't teach trades or take trades serious. It's the computer generation and I-phones, and singers like IGGY. Pneumatics, hydraulics,avionics, power plants, flight controls and other ATA chapter related items, reading measuring equipment, reading schematics, wiring diagrams, maintenance fault isolation manuals isn't to be taken lightly, and its a little more than just being a GREASE MONKEY like many think.
