Thread: Dam. Amsterdam that is....

Ok, got a little bug to go visit Amsterdam sometime. Got some guys at work here telling me its a great place. I only flew out of Amsterdam once back in 91. Ship pulled into Antwerp Belgium, then got hopped over to the DAM and flown out of country, so only airport. I hear the Dam is pretty neat. A lot like Germany, and even better. Main reason I would like to go is to show the wife how great Europe is, and check out some of the brew houses there, and of course, the history behind Holland and the windmills and miniature city I heard about. Not to mention, accessibility is great. So was thinking sometime around fall, maybe September or October. Anyone got tips on hotels or places to stay?
