About LinkBacksDave, we did EK JNB to DXB but it was not w/out it's pains, until we got flatbeds DXB/ATL to home. There aren't too many options that aren't 9-10+ hrs JNB to EU.
Be mindful that LHR will add about $150 to any city outside EU + zed costs.
