Thread: Central Africa Experience

Hi All,

We are going to Lusaka, Zambia in August and I thought I'd ask if anyone has experience getting in and out of there. We are Delta parents (S3B priority). We did the babes in the woods thing earlier this year and apparently got VERY lucky. We flew Delta from ATL to JNB and South African (ZED) to Lusaka. It all worked out but we got a major scare re. load optimizing - got on the return flight by the skin of our teeth. And had to sit in steerage for 17 hours! ;-)

We start out on the Pacific coast so LAX, SFO or SEA are possible departure hubs.

Does anyone have experience with a less restrictive route? Maybe out of Dubai or Europe? I saw that VS flies in from LHR and with the Delta partner agreement, the ZED might be really cheap, but I can't check that.
