Default Airline Complaints Through the Roof..But Why? Slow Refunds, Quarantines in HA

Frontier Airlines is pushing the limits of consumer complaints with nearly 50 complaints per 100,000 boardings. That's an eye-popping 5,523 complaints. Hawaiian, at number two, was a victim of a strict Hawaiian quarantine rule. And then there's United Airlines, with the most complaints of any U.S. carrier — 11,274.

Several international airlines that refused to offer prompt refunds. They include:

    • Air Canada (5,784 complaints)
    • El Al (2,245 complaints)
    • Lufthansa (2,122 complaints)
    • TAP Air Portugal (5,007 complaints)

I am guessing that most of those complaints are about not getting a refund to ofop on nonrefundable tickets. Travelers get upset about not getting their money back - getting credit instead - even if the plane went and they did not. Understandable but hardly something they should complain to the DOT about. Even worse, why would you complain about HA because of the state of HI quarantine rules? How is that their fault?

Oh for the days of pax complaining about overbooked flights, long security lines and cramped seats - was that only a year ago?
