Default No-rev clearence flying international USA to Destination via FRA

    Hello,
I plan to fly from USA to Asia via FRA on Lufthansa. I have heard that they clear non-revs 24hrs prior to departure. Can someone confirm?
Additionally, would Lufthansa issue both boarding passes (A-B and B-C) at departure, if the next leg is also within 24hrs of departure?

Wondering if I would need to get a transit visa and re-checkin (immigration and all) at FRA

Appreciate your sharing of experiences and recommendations.

    Thanks!

Yes, they clear if the flight is open. Sorry but I do not know about the other questions.

    1. If flight is wide open they will clear 24 hours prior, if not you will have to wait for them to clear you at gate.
    2. If your B-C flight is wide open they will clear and seat assignment, if not again, you will have to wait at gate to clear. BUT I think this may be a Schengen thing because I had a flight from FRA-IST this May and I couldn't even check in that flight until I was cleared in the USA-FRA flight so I have a strong suspicion you may not be able to check in at all on your second leg to Asia until you clear first leg.
    3. Transit visa requirements will depend on nationality.

I second that. 24hrs seems unlikely.
