Hi, I'm Chris. I work for Delta in Atlanta. I am a Staff Assistant in the Inside Sales department and I grew up here in Atlanta. So if there is anything that I can help you with in "Hot 'lanta" as it's affectionately known, just let me know.

If you leave Atlanta's Hartsfield International airport and go south on I75 for an hour or so, you will come to Forsyth, GA. You can leave from there and take a short drive to Juliette, GA. Which is pretty much an old town that must have been abandoned for the most part until they used it for the filming of "Fried Green Tomatoes" with Jessica Tandy and Kathy Bates.

You can eat in the actual restaraunt used in the movie. The food was good but it was pretty pricey. They have a lot of photos and stories displayed about the movie.

Chris; can you tell me the name of the hotels in LIM and SCL where the DL air crews stay?
Thanx, Chet

Sorry Chet. I don't have a clue. I would look on DLNet for you to see what I could find but I have lost my home access since I upgraded to Windows XP. You might want to try placing a new topic in the General Discussion or South America board. You might get a response from a crew member.

The Nonrev Portal has a link to http://www.aircrewlayover.com/ . I tried it but it was not working but hopefully it's just a temporary probelm. You might want to give it a try later.

I think DL is a codeshare carrier with South African Airways??? Anyway, does DL work SAA flts in Atlanta, or are there SAA employees there?

Thanks,

Shona

Yes. DL does codeshare but I know that SA flies their own plane into Hartsfield. I've seen in on approach so I think they most likely have their on personell in ATL as well.

Chris, I am not familiar with ATL to much and dont know where this is. Do you know how far away from the airport the World of Coke is and what is the best way to get there? I would like to bring my family down for a tour.
Thanks,

Hi Evan,

The World of Coke is in the heart of downtown Atlanta just next to Underground Atlanta. You should be able to ride Marta directly out of the airport and to a Marta station that is right across the street from it. Downtown is only 10-15 minutes from the airport. You should be able to find all the information for routing at www.itsmarta.com/ . I don't go downtown much so if I ever drive down, I always have to wander around a bit to find it so I can't give you precise directions. I do know that there is a large parking garage adjacent to it. I would park there. One time I parked in a lot several blocks away and didn't feel that safe with the area that I had to walk through. You should be fine though for a trip with your family in the day. I wouldn't recommend that anyone go down there alone at night.
