My mother is looking to visit my sister in Houston in early May. She is very flexible as to when she leaves, but not really from/to where. She is 74 and doesn't like to drive to PHL or EWR to catch flights; perhaps ABE...

Anyway, has anyone flown nonrev in/out of AVP? Being a smaller airport, the full fares from AVP are extremely high, and the standby rates look very attractive. Here are some combinations I've come up with:

US: AVP-PHL; AVP-DCA; AVP-CLT
CO: AVP-CLE
DL: AVP-CVG; AVP-ATL
NW: AVP-DTW
UA: AVP-IAD; AVP-ORD

Once she gets to any of these hub cities, there seems to be tons of service to IAH, particularly from CLE.

So, if there is anyone out there that has experienced nonrev into AVP, or if you can see generally how that airport looks, I'd appreciate it.
