I am trying to get to Reno on July 4th weekend from DFW. AA looks really bad and I am wondering if flying to PHX and trying WN, HP, US (Zed fares except for WN )etc could be a good option. Can anyone help me check loads on any of these fights from PHX to RNO?

I can help with WN if you give me your dates out and back. But just in general most flights Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday look bad.

I am HP/US employee. All the PHX-RNO flights on Fri. and Sat (6/30-7/1) look really bad for non-rev travel. The only flight I see that looks good is flight #520 on 7/3 (Sun) this flight is the first flight of the day and is wide open. HP has a flight out of LAS on 7/1 (Sat) leaving early Sat. evening flight #6297 that still has seats available. However, the hard part may be getting to LAS from DFW or anywhere.

    Thanks for all the information!!
About dates, ideally what I want is, to get to RNO or SMF on Friday evening, which seems close to impossible.
I am coming back on Tuesday (4 July) on AA as it has seats open.
I checked AA for west bound flights and I think I can get to PHX on friday night ot saturday morning.

If I decide to wait till sunday, AA has some open seats from DFW direct to RNO, and the flight from ORD to RNO is wide open. But I was hoping to find a way to SMF(sacramento) or RNO on Fri/Sat.

Of the 3 nonstops from PHX-RNO all are sold out and all forecast "Full" at departure. Doesn't look good.

On the return RNO-PHX the first flight in the morning at 0730a is open and is forecasting 21-30 seats at departure. The 2 later flights all have a number of seats to sell but both are forecasting only 1-5 seats at departure.

    Thanks Randy!
I got on the AA direct flight RNO-DFW as it was very open. Getting to Reno turned out to be a nightmare but I finally managed through SFO.
