I'm not sure I'd do the apt thing unless I really knew what I was doing--there are city hotels in every price range with promos etc that can take a triple booking. At least I would NEVER give CC details via email w/out knowing address (confirmed--there are scams regarding apt bldgs that don't exist) and phone (not just cel) etc.
