I can't believe Boeing slipped my mind. I immediately apologize and retract my statement. Boeing is #1, Grunge is #2. And starbucks is still last.
I've never worn the grunge look, but the music is way better than anything released recently.

I keep expecting Pink Floyd or the crew of the Fantastic Voyage to add to my experience in the DTW tunnel. It's almost worth flying thru just to take it all in. Makes you feel like you're in an old Beatles vid? At least there was no one saying "soylent green is people"....

Do you get fly together duty one day, or is it just spliced in with all the other calls? I talked to a really nice agent yesterday when I was listing my mother.[/b]
It's mixed in with all the other calls - I often shudder when I get "Norwest Employee Fly together" as unlike regular non reving, it's a REAL pain in the butt to get it right (Even WITH the cheat sheet!) as I have to set up an open ticket - funny enough, if you're a Delta Employee, I can just run you through the regular Non Rev flow, just like a regular NWA employee.
*NOTE TO FELLOW NW EMPLOYEES FLYING ON DELTA*
Do *NOT* call me an hour before your flight to get your pass - you need to get a paper ticket from the NW counter THEN list on Delta - Unlike for Delta employees where it's a paperless pass and I can do it all in one easy call, for us to fly on Delta it's a little more involved right now! Plan accordingly!!

Far Better to have listed and lost, than to have never have listed at all.

Actually, we need paper tix to ride on NW. I guess it doesn't get put into your PNR maybe, but we cannot get on a NW plane without a flight coupon. It just so happens to be $0.00, but we still need the coupon. I think it's kind of a waste of paper, when going to SEA, I got 5 or 6 flight coupons to cover plans B and C, I ended up using 2.
It is really nice to have pretty much double the flights available to hop on.

Oh! See, with Delta folks I only get the 'other side' of it - listing a Delta employee for me is just like listing a regular NW employee - a few simple clicks through the flow and boom, I can drop you a PNR like *that*. Soon enough I hope it'll be easier for all of us

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ColoAvs19 @ May 8 2009, 11:53 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div>You must! We went up there when we lived in the area about 10 years ago. The Everett tour is quick but it was neat to see the 777s being built. There was a Cathay Pacific 777 in the hangar while we were there. You had to get a ticket early and then come back for your show time. Don't know if it is still the same. With the PM function down, I figured I'd revive this year old thread.
Jumper, I was considering another attempt to tour Boeing. Might you be available Mon 5/11 or Tues 5/12?
Thanks[/b]
Back in Seattle, go to Copacabana for lunch. It is a Bolivian Restaurant in the Pike Place market area.

Visited Boeing Everett on 8May. I stayed at the everett the night before, so that I can get there in just 15 minutes drive. It is worth to do so. Next time, if I still have interest to visit again, I may stay at Hilton Garden View. It is next door to the Musuem, and I have a good guess that may be the hotel for customer airline before delivery flight.
We got to the future of the flight just before 10, no one there, bought the tickets so easy. You can bought tickets from the machine or from the ticket kiosk. We bought the show ticket at 10.15, coz they have a school visit at 10. The lady told me there will be 50% off discount for Airline Employee during winter season
Before the show I walked the museum, where Air France was celebrating their 75 years and has the display there. The are numerous display there with RR, GE and P&W displaing engine....
The show started with a 15 minutes short movie, and then took a bus to the Boeing Factory. The bus drove around a DreamLifter and the first 787. The guide said that 787 is due for first flight test in Jun09, so excited.
Then we reached the factory building, where you need to walk down 30 steps to the tunnel. From the tunnel walk another 200 meters to get to the lift. Lift goes up to the observation deck and oversee 2 assembly lines. There were 4 777 assembling, 2 Air France and 1 BA, another unknown. There is a large overhead projector showing the progress of each aircraft.
We back to the bus and went to another factory building, which is building 787s. Lots of engineers are sitting on the floor and working on the 787, it is massive.
After all, we back to the musuem and end up in the Boeing Store with a CDROM as gift for the tour. The tour took like 2 hours. Don't miss the roof top of the building, it's spectacular to view all the soon will deliver airplanes, Dreamlifter and may be 787.
