OK so I have a problem that I dare say my ticketing offer won't know the answer to, so I thought i'd try you guys.

I'm going to be on several DL/NW flights next month and need to organise ZEDs soonish, esp now the AUD is strong against the USD.

1. If a flight is op by NW, do I assume I need a NW ZED or is a DL ZED acceptable? (and v.v.)
2. If a flight is operated by Pinnacle or Mesaba, how am I to know it that is NW or DL? I am reasonably sure all AZO flights are NW Airlink...but not 100% sure
3. Will DL staff accept a MCOLGA ZED to LGA or JFK?

In theory 1 & 3 don't matter so much as ZEDs are meant to be flexible. In practice this seemingly isn't always the case

geez, Nick--you're making my brain SMOKE!! Great questions. Bet Jumper can clear up some or all.
Pretty sure # 3 is moot--point to point should be NYC base--don't forget EWR!! (many of us wish we could...)
I think the respective websites for DL and NWA will show who operates which one as codeshare or not--which zed works for what metal?
arghhhhh---too many G's!! Pull out, pull out!!

NW metal - NW zed - presume that your airline has an equilateral agreement but if that's not the case (After all, we're keeping our Alaska air agreement right now as apposed to ZED, thank the stars!) NW operated, NW metal =NW fare rules. The airlinks are usually covered by NW air but are now designated 'Delta connections'

Head spinning yet?

CARPE TRIPPEM -

Far Better to have listed and lost, than to have never have listed at all.

Yes didn't forget... so that gives me chances MCO-LGA/JFK/EWR on DL/AA/CO... and I have a WN buddy pass I can use if need be MCOBWILGA or MCOMDWLGA. Will def escape MCO!

Just a tad!

Thanks for the info. We just got a ZED with DL a few months ago, have had one with NW since I started 2yrs ago and prob longer.

OK well i'll follow the DL schedule program in terms of who to issue on, and will assume DTWAZO v.v. flights ticket to NW! Wish me luck

Welcome to the CC, Nick. That's the Conundrum Club. Pinnacle Parent here, and I agree w. the other posters. I'm still feeling my way around, but did get ZEDs (because that's what us Pinnacle Parents need now) on NW for NW flts. NYC is writ large: LGA accepted our BDL (Hartford, 100 miles northeast) ZED tickets, and so did MSP going back to LGA. Good luck!

I thought there'd be more consensus on the issue, but then again I assume there are still more important things to integrate between DL/NW than staff travel concessions.

Looked it up, all DTWAZO flights are DL, except for one that is NW. Whatevs, i'll just get a DL ticket.

Glad to hear you did ok with the NYC area airports, although hopefully I don't end up in BDL.... bit far for my liking!

Hey Jumper...

Im sorry im new to the non-rev world... what do you mean by NW metal?

I work for qx and use our agreements to fly to NRT.

ON NWA.com it says that PDX-NRT is operated by Delta. But on travelnet it says PDX-NRT is a NW Flight.

And also do you know how long these agreements are going to last?

Technically it's NW metal for now but it may have shown as a code share on your site.
