So my friend at Mesaba doesn't know the answer to this and is going to check w/pass bureau later in the week and get back to me, but i'm slightly impatient and thought one of y'all might know.

He was getting me a buddy pass DXBATL then asked if I wanted the return sector. I really have no desire for it as don't plan on being in ATL or DXB anytime in the next year or so.

My question is, do the buddy passes work as a return to original departure point only? Or is an onward or seperate flight OK to use one pass for? (such as ATLMCO or even LAXSYD). For example with a WN buddy pass, I can go SFODAL with half the pass, then say SEAMSP with the other half and that is acceptable.

Secondly, what is the validity on the return sector of a buddy pass?

EDIT - Do DL/NW have a nonrev phone number? My intranet says to call reservations which I doubt would be correct
