it's a pretty compact city and relatively small.
covington south side/cincinnati north side (river is KY, BTW, even tho Buckeyes think otherwise!!)
DT cincy has little to offer for reasonable hotels in good locations. all the chains are on the Ky side--bridges are relatively short walkover. plenty of cheap digs near the airport. there's also the Drawbridge in Ft. Mitchell KY that offers airline discount.
Museum Center is just past DT Cinti
airport is southwest on beltway (I275)
you'll need car for Devou Park and Museum Center. I bet Beringer Crawford curator can steer you to any old foundries/similar bldgs.
Newport is on the southeast side by Covington--on the other side of the Licking River (Newport was quite the naughty place for mobsters and our "Havana" of the fifties--then Bobby Kennedy got a broom...) That's where the Purple People Bridge is and it connects direct to the waterfront DT
I bet you could find more than a handful of CW groups in the immediate Tri-State area.

Just remembered--New Richmond OH east of city past the riverbend might have some CW groups--it's well-known for Lewis and Clark exped, too
