San Diego has several outstanding breweries that would be quite worthy to check out. Here are a couple:
Stone Brew Co, Alesmith, Ballast Point, Oggi's, Pizza Port, Carl Strauss (the beer garden with a koi pond).

Ballast Point's Yellowtail Pale and Calico Copper (red ale) are outstanding.
