A new $55 million consolidated rental car facility has opened at Chicago Midway International Airport.
The facility, located at the north end of the airport, has been built to replace the numerous rental car customer service center, facilities and lots that were previously located in and around the airport and consolidate them into one place.
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, National, Thrifty and Enterprise rental car companies will operate at the new building.
The facility includes a customer service center, a five level garage that can accommodate 1,870 vehicles, and a quick turn-around (QTA) facility where the vehicles are fuelled, washed and prepared for rental.
Chicago’s Mayor Rahm Emanuel, said: “This facility improves the travel experience at Midway by making the rental car process more convenient for customers and benefits the community by making the operation more streamlined and more environmentally-friendly.
