As of April 22 you can take light rail from DEN to Denver’s Union Station (downtown). The cost is $9 each way and the 23-mile ride takes around 40 minutes.
Denver’s Union Station which is the city’s new transportation hub has undergone a $500 million renovation and includes regional, local buses, Amtrak, taxis and free Downtown MetroRide buses that serve most downtown hotels. The New Union Station also has bars and a 112-room hotel.
On a personal note, be advised that driving in downtown Denver is an exercise in frustration.
Downtown Denver is a maze of one-way streets and it’s almost impossible to talk your way out of a ticket.
