    Aviation music

This quiz tests your aviation/music knowledge. I'll give you some lyrics and you have to identify the song. Bonus points will be awarded if you can also identify the composer or artist.
Since 10 aviation songs would be waaaay too easy. I've included lyrics from songs that have absolutely nothing to do with aviation other than they mention a plane or flying in a particular line. This quiz is rated difficult, don't worry I'll give you some hints.
For this quiz I had lots of help, thanks Sgt.

As previously stated, a detailed explanation of scoring is avaiable by sending one dozen Mrs Field's chocolate chip cookies ( with walnuts) to Migflanker at LAX. Inquiries will be answered wtihin 6 to 8 weeks and are not valid in Arizona, New York, and certain Canadian provinces.

    <UL TYPE=SQUARE>
1 "Off we go into the wild blue yonder"

2 "Scuse me while I kiss the sky"

3 "Touched down in the land of the Delta Blue, in the middle of
    the pouring rain

    4 "Revvin' up your engine
    Listen to her howlin' roar
    Metal under tension
Beggin' you to touch and go."

5 "Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
    Into the future

6 *humming* ok, The flight of the Bumblebee

7 "XXX is traveling tonight on a plane
I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain
Oh and I can see XXX waving goodbye
God it looks like XXX, must be the clouds in my eyes."

8 "When you get caught between the moon and New York City."

9 "All my bags are packed I'm ready to go
I'm standing here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin' it's early morn
The taxi's waitin' he's blowin' his horn
Already I'm so lonesome I could die."

10 You can reach me by railway
You can reach me by trailway
You can reach me on an airplane
you can reach me with your mind[/list]
    OK, lets see some answers

1 - The theme for that awful new UA paint job. *They* should have been called JetBlue.

2 - Well if it hadda been "I'll 'scuse you while you kiss my butt" I know that one - The Captain's Ballad. I don't know this one though.

3 - Does it ever rain at Hartsfield?

    4 -

5 - The theme for Dr. Who's tardis

6 - My current ring tone on my mobile phone. (Okay, okay, I'll acquiesce to the majority - my cellphone in YankSpeak).

    7 -

8 - I think I remember Herb giving a moon to New York City when he sent LUV into Islip.

9 - Geez. Some poor schmuck who thinks he's in love. (Either that or he *needs* to be in love).

10 - John Edwards. (Do you get that psycho, oops, psychic, over there???)

You forgot some classics, like "Come fly with me", "Leaving on a jet plane, "From New York to LA", "Take me to the moon" and no doubt others.

Congratulations Luv2fly you identified 10 out of 10 songs. However because you didn't identify the artist, you were not awarded any bonus points.
    Your score is 80-
74-83-Aviator--Every non-rev lives for something different, for some it's the chance to travel the world, for others it's the opportunity to corner the market on boarding passes and in-flight magazines, for you it's the chance to peek into medicine cabinets, yes, lots and lots of medicine cabinets. You love to travel, enjoy singing along with the in-flight music and don't mind sleeping in airports or knocking on your son's friend's cousin's door in the middle of the night and asking for 'your precious' dental floss.

Fascinating answers Al, but no matter how many times you request it, American carriers are not putting Waltzing Matilda on their in-flight play list.

Now just for Al, lets all join in for a rousing chorus of Waltzing Matilda.

    "Waltzing Matilda, waltzing Matilda
You come a waltzing Matilda with me
And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boil
You'll come a waltzing Matilda with me."

Now that I see the words, Al what is this song about anyway???
