This week a little something different, a quiz that tests both music and airport knowledge. From the clues see if you can figure out what city I'm in and then give its airport code.
NOTE- In cases where the answer is a state or a country use the code of the airport in the capital city. After all theses quizzes are for fun and not meant to drive you crazy, having the songs stuck in your head is meant to do that
    <UL TYPE=SQUARE>
    1. This is my kind of town, my kind of people too, and each time I leave this town is tuggin' my sleeve. Can you name my kinda town?

    2. One night here and the world's your oyster. The bars are temples but the pearls ain't free. Any ideas where I am?

    3. In this city I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader's Vic's and Lon Chaney walking with the Queen.

    4. If you're going here, be sure to wear flowers in your hair.

    5. I'm taking a Greyhound on the Hudson River line, where am I?

    6. Still in peaceful dreams I see the road leads back to this state.

    7. Well I'm standing on a corner-such a fine sight to see... a girl in a flat bed Ford, slowin down to take a look at me. Where am I?

    8. My vagabond shoes are longing to stray, right through the very heart of this city.

    9. I never knew the charm of spring, I never knew my heart could sing, til I spent April in this city. Where am I?

    10. I put on my blue suede shoes and I boarded the plane. Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues in the middle of the pouring rain. I'm walking in what city?

    11. I got lost traveling to this city. Do you know the way to this California city?

    12. By the time I get to this city, he'll be rising and find the note I left hanging on the door. Can you guess where I'm headed now?

    13. I'm standing in the rain; luckily the rain stays mainly on the plain. (I know,... I'm tired and my head hurts)

    14. From the south bay to the valley, from the west side to the east side, everybody's very happy, cause the sun is shining all the time in this city. Looks like another perfect day, I love....? [/list]

Hmmm, it appears quiz-10 is proving to be quite the challenge. Maybe the map will help. (I know...I'll get my hat)

Fin-a-lly an answer, I knew somebody would eventually look at the map. Bikerscooby you answered 14 out of 14, unfortunately you didn't include airport codes, major point deductions, your final score is 49.99999. (test pilot)
Test pilot- you're adventurous, engergetic and thrive under pressure. You enjoy leaving things to the last minute and will work on some small, tiny, part of a problem for months, then finish the entire project in a 48 hour marathon. You love to travel and like the "adventure" of nonrevving, however you do have a rather strange fascination with gas stations, which is why even after returning from the most exotic locale, you know the price of gas.

Edited to add--As previously stated, a detailed explanation of scoring is available by sending Mrs. Field's chocolate chip cookies (with walnuts) to Migflanker at LAX. Inquiries will be answered within 6 to 8 weeks and are not valid in the Emerald City, Atlantis, or Frostbite Falls, Minnesota...no mailboxes.

How did you figure this one out? It's true, I log on to gasbuddy.com every day to post gas prices.

So you want to know how the quiz wizard knows about your fascination with gas stations. Now normally this type of scoring information requires chocolate chip inducement, (see quiz disclaimer) but because you are new to the board and a fellow Kalifornian, I,for this one time only will answer a quiz scoring question without cookie reimbursement.

You see I have a few friends that ride bikes and among the things they have in common is loving to weave in and out of traffic and knowing the cheapest place to buy gas, soooo since I know you ride a bike Bikerscooby, I played the odds and guessed you might monitor the gas stations too... simple straightforward guesswork.
Now, how do you suppose I know you ride a Beemer!

After I posted that, I figured out what you probably did... an internet search on me! You could find a bunch of other forums I'm a member of (like the GasBuddy and BMW bike one), since I use the same name on lots of them.

You're not psychic, just sneaky. No cookie for you.

Scooby you give me too much credit, it was a calculated guess with a little luck thrown in, nothing more. Trust me, I could have just as easily been wrong, or is that part about "You enjoy leaving things to the last minute and will work on some small, tiny, part of a problem for months, then finish the entire project in a 48 hour marathon." true too? hmmm a procrastinating test pilot, BikerSnoopy

However you are right about the Beemer, I didn't have to guess about the bike...you did give me your website.

So you thought I 'Googled' you, didn't know that would work. Wonder what would happen if I 'Google' Randy...or maybe Al... *head spinning* oh the horrror!

After nearly six months I can finally say--
    This quiz is closed!
