Bingo, we have a winner! It is the state flag of Maryland. When planning the new plane it was suggested that it be a large crab to honor the state since no one really recongnizes the state flag. It's definitely one of our nation's more colorful and unusual. Crab cakes anyone?

Now I'm going to poke around the HP website to find those specialty aircraft photos.

Okay, Tim, I found them. They're cool. Now that I think of it I have seen the Ohio plane and the Diamondbacks, too. The NV plane looks a lot like ours. The AZ plane seems impressionist - kinda neet!

In honor of BWI, our 3rd largest operation. A continuation of the celebration of the opening earlier this month of our new BWI terminal. It took place on Flag Day.

If you look at the state flags for most of the original 13 states/colonies, you'll see that they are just the coats of arms from the British families they came from.

I'm originally from PA, and the state flag is the coat of arms from William Penn's family. I'd imagine Maryland is in a similar boat.

It is kind of neat being able to spot these planes. One day last week I caught the same plane 2x on the same day.

And here's the WN planes: WN-Photos

DC wants recognition from Southwest Airlines...now everybody wants one!

My nomination for most spectacular livery. Unfortunately it was cloudy the day I took my photos, so here's a link
