This was great. I got a great kick out of this. Ironically, I just flew in this morning from MIA and boy was I packed in like a sardine. If anything, I wanted to go back out and punch the innocent guy that stuck me in that window seat wedged in between the lady in the middle that was adament about putting down the arm rest and the window arm rest that doesn't recline. To put it blunt, I just didn't feel like dealing with it and my initial instincts told me to get out of this airplane, but my discipline had to kick in by holding breath till I calmed down and just faced the fact that I must get back home no matter what. I've been couped up before, but the chemistry was just not there to deal with it this time. You know what I mean? I don't even consider myself clostaphobic nor afraid of heights but I just wanted SPACE this time and I was JUST NOT GONNA GET IT for more than two hours. I think the crazy hours I work and the hours I've been dealing with down in MIA created this wierd feeling because I just didn't sleep good and not used to early hours like these when travelling, plus skipping breakfast may have contributed to the uneasiness. I saw this pilot dead heading and he got put in the exit row, I felt like going up to him and pulling him out of that chair. He was over 300 lbs easy. So much for my FEE WAIVED BUSINESS CLASS upgrade to the pits. But in the end, I am grateful, my ass was numb by the time I got to IAH, didn't suffer no heart attacks or clogged up arteries, didn't pay any fares, and I am home to my little sweetheart and my little cubby hole, and own bed. Even managed to bring back a bundle of hand rolled MIAMI cigars from YAXEL on calle ocho. I guess that's what keeps me from going mad on these flights when I get packed in like a sardine. The drive to get back to my little shack by the railroad shack we all call home.
